Information about diabetes

The practice cares for more than 500 patients with diabetes.  Our clinics are run by our practice nurses Jeanette Saunders and Danielle Young. They provide annual reviews as well as ongoing care.

Insulin dependent diabetic patients will also have check-ups at the hospital. Eye screening for diabetic retinopathy is offered on an annual basis - the location of this service varies.

The rest of this page includes resources and links to information and support for people with diabetes.  A useful starting point is the Diabetes UK website at www.diabetes.org.uk.  In particular, we would like to highlight their dedicated helpline, which is called Careline - https://www.diabetes.org.uk/careline

The following leaflets have been produced by the Scottish Foot Group and provide clear information on the importance of good foot care for people with diabetes:

Foot care leaflet for low risk patients

Foot care leaflet for moderate risk patients

Footcare leaflet for high risk patients
