Part II: Classes of Information

All information at the The Datchet Health Centre General Practice is held, retained and destroyed in accordance with NHS guidelines. Our commitment to publish information excludes any information which can be legitimately withheld under the exemptions set out in the NHS Openness Code or Freedom of Information Act 2000. Where individual Classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons are e.g. the protection of commercial interests and personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998. This applies to all Classes within the Publication Scheme. The information on this Scheme is grouped into the following broad categories:

1. Who we are

Details of the Practice, organisational structures, key personnel and how we fit into the NHS

This Practice adheres to the national General Medical Services contract. The contract is with NHS England.

The Practice aims to follow National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) and National Service Framework guidelines. Copies of these can also be found on the NICE website (http://www.nice.org.uk) or the Department of Health website (http://www.doh.gov.uk).

The NHS is a very large part of the public sector. It is possible to find out information about our Practice, the Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead Clinical Commissioning Group (of which we are a member) and other NHS services in your area by using http://www.nhs.uk. A full list of local General Practices can be found there too. The The Datchet Health Centre provides general medical services for the geographical area of Datchet, Wraysbury, Old Windsor and Horton.

Some information will be withheld, including personal, confidential information about individuals which is protected by the Data Protection Act 1998.

3. Financial and funding information

Funding details and charging policies

The Datchet Health Centre receives money from those who commission its services according to its contract (as per Class 1 above) in exchange for services provided for patients.

There may be circumstances where material cannot be released because it is confidential or commercial information or the appropriate officer designated for these purposes under the Act has taken the view that it may be prejudicial to the conduct of the Practice's affairs.

4. Regular publications and information for the public

5. GP Earnings

NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown below. However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.

All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice. The average pay for GPs working in Datchet Health Centre in the last financial year was £44,950 before tax and national insurance. This is for one fulltime GP, seven part time GPs and three locum GPs who worked in the practice for more than six months.
